Dr. W. Dean Wilkerson
Dr. Willidean (Dean) Wilkerson is a retired member of the Senior Executive Service (SES) with the Department of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in Washington, DC. She retired as the Executive Director, Strategic Assessment and Employee Development (SAED, within the Taxpayer Advocacy of the IRS. After serving 42 years in the federal government, she wanted to pursue her passion in education for the adult learner.
Dr. Wilkerson has served in several senior leadership positions within the Internal Revenue Service, each with increasing responsibility including, Director, Business Systems Planning within the Large Business and International (LB&I) Division; Assistant Director, Technology Operations, Criminal Investigation Services; Deputy Director, Custodial Account Data Engine (CADE) Project Office; Acting Director, Technology Release Management Division; Director, Research and Analytics Division; Director, Web Services Program Office; Assistant Director, Corporate Data Division; Chief, Corporate Files On-Line Branch; and Earned Income Tax Credit Project Manager.
Dr. Wilkerson also serves as an adjunct instructor with Strayer University. She enjoys teaching adult learners because it provides an opportunity for continual learning, development, and growth for herself and the learners. Dr. Wilkerson believes in challenging students out of their comfort zones. Prior to joining Strayer University as an adjunct instructor, Dr. Wilkerson served as a Leadership Readiness Program facilitator for the IRS. In addition, she has served as an adjunct instructor for Bowie State University and Prince Georges Community College. Dr. Wilkerson also participates in numerous special emphasis programs and enjoys coaching and mentoring. Dr. Dr. Wilkerson joined IMLAG in 2012 as a Senior Executive Consultant and Subject Matter Expert. She’s a tremendous asset to the organization and IMLAG is happy to have her on the team.
Dr. Wilkerson holds a Doctoral of Management degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix; a Master’s degree in Information Resources Management from the University of Maryland University College; and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Management) from Southeastern University. Dr. Wilkerson also acquired Masters Certificates to include Chief Information Officer, from the National Defense University, Project Management, ESI/George Washington University, and Teaching at a Distance, University of Maryland University College.
Dr. Wilkerson and her husband have a son and live in the suburb of Maryland.
